How to Kill Flying Termites on Your Own

If you find this task too much for you to handle, it may be better to let a professional take care of it. However, if you do decide to kill the termites on your own, the bait system is much easier to use and has less chemicals that will pollute the soil in your yard.

This system basically will starve the colony by killing the workers that it attracts. These workers provide the food. Most lawn care and nurseries will sell these.

You will take a shovel and dig around 6 inches down in various holes a foot away from your foundation. Put the bait traps in the holes and fill them back up with the dirt and pack them tightly.

Following the kit's instruction, check the traps and see if the evidence of infestation is present. This is usually in the form of ground termites which look like small translucent white bugs, or mud tubes. You then insert the toxins that come with the kit.

Hopefully the termites will keep feeding on the chemicals and then die. This means they won't be bringing food back to the colony leaving it to starve to death.
